It was a beautiful day! Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, donated, and cheered people on as they ran, walked, and strolled our excellent course. The sea of red, white, and blue was inspiring, the helicopters were impressive, and the Boulevard of the Brave (where people were holding 31 signs for each American who died on that helicopter August 6, 2011) definitely caused a tear or two. It was a great day.
There aren’t enough words to thank our wonderful volunteers. I’m trying, but I just cannot find the words. There is no way this 5K can happen without the wonderful team that comes together to pull this off. They truly are some of the best people I’ve ever known.
And thank you for your words of support and encouragement. We have met some amazing people on this journey and got to meet a few more at the run. The love that is shown to our family, the respect you have shown for our veterans—it all takes my breath away. Again, thank you doesn’t seem enough.
Photos from this year's Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count 5K are now available! Please go to: www.makeitcounttoday5K.zenfolio.com and click "galleries.” You can then go to the date of the run 2AUG2014 to access these. The photos are organized by finish line, along the route, and candid/award photos. To download an image, right-click on the image and go to "download." Prints may also be ordered or shared on social media sites.
We are currently working on tagging photos so that you may find all photos of a person by bib number. We have experienced some technical difficulties but expect to have the tagging worked out within the next week. Please note, if your bib number is not visible in the photo, it will not be tagged and will be unavailable for search by bib number. Finish line photos are in chronological order, so if you know your race time, you should be able to find your finish line photo.
Please be certain to check out the bonus finish line photos after the chronological photos. These are additional photos taken by a second photographer from a different angle.
Thanks to our very talented photographers and their dedication to getting these photos posted! And thank you all for your support as we all try to MAKE IT COUNT for our veterans.
Be certain to mark your calendars for the 4th Annual Spencer C Duncan Make It Count 5K to be held Saturday, August 1, 2015!
